Natus Vincere eliminated HLTV.org world number one Team Spirit from PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 in the final 2-2 decider of the Swiss stage. The victory sent NAVI into the playoffs and set up a quarter-final against Vitality, who beat them earlier in the tournament.

NAVI controlled the opening map on Cache before Spirit levelled the series on Dust2. NAVI then won the deciding map on Anubis to end Spirit’s event before the playoffs. HLTV reported that it was Spirit’s first defeat to NAVI since February 2025.

NAVI began the Swiss stage with 2-0 wins over G2 and FURIA, although the second map against G2 required three overtimes. Their position became less secure after consecutive 2-0 losses to BetBoom and Vitality.

BetBoom beat NAVI 13-10 on Dust II and 13-9 on Nuke. Vitality followed with a 13-2 win on Inferno and a 13-9 win on Dust II, leaving NAVI in the 2-2 pool with no room for another defeat.

Spirit also reached the deciding round after a setback. They lost 2-1 to MOUZ on 27 October despite opening that series with a 13-2 win on Nuke. MOUZ took Dust2 13-8 and Mirage 16-14 to complete the comeback.

The elimination carries a financial consequence for Spirit. Teams finishing ninth to eleventh each receive US$31,250, while each losing quarter-finalist takes US$50,000.

Three teams claim the final playoff places

NAVI were one of three teams to qualify on the final group-stage day. Nemiga defeated The MongolZ 2-0, while FURIA beat Liquid by the same score to secure the other two remaining places.

The eight-team playoff bracket is now set. Alongside NAVI against Vitality, the quarter-finals pair Nemiga with FUT, Aurora with MOUZ, and BetBoom with FURIA.

Vitality rematch offers no second chance

Vitality will face NAVI with Justinas ‘jL’ Lekavicius standing in. The organisation announced in August that he would stand in at BLAST Open Porto and PGL Masters Bucharest.

The playoffs use a single-elimination bracket, with a separate match for third place, and conclude on 31 October. NAVI’s tournament page describes Bucharest as the penultimate major tournament before PGL Major Singapore 2026, giving the remaining teams another opportunity to build momentum before that event.
