Global Esports’ first appearance at Valorant Champions ended in Shanghai on October 4, when LOUD beat them 2-0 in the Group B decider. The Indian organisation finished 9th to 12th, closing a season in which it won its first VCT Pacific title and reached its first Masters event.

The defeat came after Global Esports had kept their Champions campaign alive by eliminating EDward Gaming, the 2024 world champions. They had lost their opening series 1-2 to Team Vitality before beating EDward Gaming 2-0, leaving the match against LOUD to decide who advanced from the group.

From Seoul to the international stage

Global Esports began the year at VCT Pacific Kickoff in Seoul, where wins over VARREL and Gen.G were offset by losses to Paper Rex and DetonatioN FocusMe. Their 7th-to-8th-place finish meant they missed Masters Santiago.

A third-place finish in VCT Pacific Stage 1 secured their first Masters berth. Their playoff run ended with defeats to FULL SENSE in the upper final and Paper Rex in the lower final, but a top-three place was enough to qualify for Masters London.

In London, Global Esports beat FULL SENSE but lost to LEVIATÁN and Xi Lai Gaming, exiting the Swiss stage with a 1-2 record. Their next international trip, to the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, ended with 0-2 losses to MIBR and All Gamers.

A comeback title in Busan

Global Esports went 3-2 in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 group stage before reaching the playoffs. They secured their Champions place during the playoffs, then recovered from an upper-final loss to Nongshim RedForce by beating T1 3-1 in the lower final.

The September 6 grand final in Busan brought a rematch with Nongshim RedForce. Global Esports lost the first two maps but won the next three to take the series 3-2, with UdoTan named MVP. The victory earned the organisation its first VCT Pacific title, $100,000 and Pacific’s first seed for Champions.

What follows the Shanghai exit

Against LOUD, Global Esports led 8-5 on Split before losing eight consecutive rounds. LOUD then won the first seven rounds on Sunset and completed the 2-0 series victory. Global Esports collected $30,000 for their Champions finish.

Across Masters London, the Esports World Cup and Champions, Global Esports won two of eight international series. Their next season will take place under different qualification rules: Riot is moving the VCT to an open qualifier format in 2027, changing how Pacific places at Masters and Champions are decided.
